Egg Drop

Calin did an egg drop for this years Science Expo (4th grade). He had fun with it and did a great job. The project was stressful to say the least. For as smart as Calin is, he has a hard time when faced with such a large task, he lets himself over think things and make them more difficult rather than breaking them down into smaller steps. My guidance just wasn't cutting it and after days of frustration, my patience wore thin. Darin pretty much never helps with homework, simply because he isn't home, but I begged him to come home early and take over. He worked with Calin and I just walked away, not usually how things go around here, but it was necessary. And I was thankful.
Anyhow, here's some pictures of the process:

It was a cold evening to be dropping eggs off the roof!

A friend of mine suggested putting the egg in a plastic jar of water. We figured the jar would break but had fun trying it!
