The car.

After the festival we drove up to Lehi where our hotel was. Before checking in we were driving around to find somewhere to eat, when the tire broke off my car. We had just pulled out of a parking lot and into a turning lane when we heard this strange noise and felt the car shift. I told Darin it sounded like our tire fell off, and sure enough, it had. It was still attached to the car, but the ball joint connecting it had broken and it was laying more sideways than straight up and down. We were quite lucky for many reasons.
1. We were in town, and not on the highway.
2. Darin was driving (I wouldn't have enjoyed being stuck somewhere alone when it happened).
3. It happened on the street conveniently outside of our hotel.
4. It was also just outside of a McDonalds and I was able to take the kids in to eat and play while we waited for the tow truck.

We unloaded as much of our belongings onto the  lawn as we could, suitcases, pillows, Easter baskets, etc. Once the car was towed, we carried it to the hotel to check in. We showered off the colors and then headed down to swim and spent the whole evening with the pool to ourselves. Keri and Tyler dropped a car off for us so we could drive it down to church in the morning.
While I put the kids to bed, Darin tracked down our car and was able to unload the rest of our stuff into Tyler's car. We were so exhausted, and had a pretty awful night in the hotel. Hard beds and noisy neighbors. But even so, Naiya was delighted that the Easter Bunny found us and we had a fun morning searching for baskets and eggs in our hotel room.
We had a lazy morning and then headed down to church with Keri. We took pictures of the kids in their Easter clothes, had a quick dinner, an Easter egg hunt, and moved our stuff into Keri's van because she had so graciously offered to drive us home.
The drive home was great, it was so nice to spend 4 hours chatting with her. I can't thank her enough for getting us home safely. Before our trip someone had joked about all the car issues we have. I thought it was a possibility my transmission would go out, but somehow that didn't stop us from taking my car. Silly now, to look back and see that we shouldn't have bothered trying to save a few bucks and just taken the truck. But who knows when that thing would have broken, it could have been so dangerous! Thankfully though, as always, Heavenly Father was looking out for us.

At least Easter turned out good for all of you.
