This is Halloween

It's been a nice Halloween. It was Calin's last soccer game (and at 35 degrees, we're glad it's over). Miss Naiya is sick--probably bronchitis. I hate that she's miserable, but she has been a trooper. She wasn't going to trick-or-treat, saying that the candy would make her feel "worser" but once the motrin kicked in she changed her mind. Hopefully she'll sleep better tonight and we'll spend tomorrow at home on the couch recuperating.
Since we live in college student land we decided to trick-or-treat with Missy's family. Trin is Belle, Calin a ninja, Naiya a fairy, and little Ivan is superman. You might recognize Naiya's costume, this is her third year wearing it.

Let me backtrack a bit. Before heading out to Missy's we stopped by our house to explore it without the workers around. I can't begin to describe how happy I am to be getting a home. It's just wonderful.

Naiya standing below what will be her bedroom, Calin's is to the right of hers. The 3 squares on the top left are windows to the "flex" room, an open room at the top of the stairs. When we found out the water table was too high for a basement we thought the flex room would be a good alternative. We'll use it as a playroom for now.

That's the front door in the back left, opening into what we'll probably use as our computer room. The right corner is the family/living room.
Calin in the master bedroom. Behind him to the right is his school. Conveniently close.Again in the master bedroom. That's the High School in the background.

It's really fun to see it all coming together, and especially to show the kids--they're just as excited as we are. I'll calm down with the house updates now, I'll still update but I promise it won't be in every other post.

Good deal on the house. It is good to see it coming along so well. If you can't a basement because of the water table, it is hard to see how come we have a basement at almost lake water level.
